Friday 9th June 2006 saw Lumsdon Wood Partnership’s 16th annual golf day go with a ‘swing’.

On a gloriously hot day, eight 3-balls played 18 holes at Chester-le-Street Golf Club.

The first prize, with a score of 40, went to Peter Fowle of Able Construction.

It was Peter’s first time at our golf day and the first time he had played the course in its current layout. Congratulations Peter.

Second prize went to Tony Nicholson of Nicholson Nairn Architects. Tony, a regular at our golf days, had a score of 37. Well done Tony.

Third prize went to Lee Bar of Portland Consulting Engineers, with a score of 37.

As with Peter, it was Lee’s first time at our golf day and the first time he had played the course. Well played Lee.

Nearest the ‘pin’ was won by Neil Storer of K.F. Shadbolt’s.

The longest drive was won by Bill Aitchison of Mansell.

The mystery team prize was won by Barry Walker of Sunderland Housing Group, Martin Nunn of Carillion and Stuart Appleby, son of John Appleby who is one of the semi-retired partners of Lumsdon Wood.

Finally, the ‘perseverance’ prize was won by a long time regular of our golf day, Steve Boyd of Tristar.

We would like to thank all those who attended and hope they all had a good day as we all look forward to next year’s event.
